Sayani Gupta, born and raised in Kolkata, India, is an Indian film actress known for her diverse roles. After graduating from the Film and Television Institute of India, she debuted in 'Second Marriage Dot Com' (2012). She played supporting roles in films like 'Fan', 'Jolly LLB 2', and 'Article 15'. Notably, Gupta essayed the role of Khanum, a blind Pakistani-Bangladeshi lesbian activist, in the film 'Margarita with a Straw' (2014) opposite Kalki Koechlin. The movie follows Laila, a teenage girl with cerebral palsy who falls in love with Khanum while studying at New York University.
