Zoe Yadira Saldaña-Perego, born June 19, 1978, is an American actress known for her roles in science fiction films. She started acting on-screen in 1999 with a guest role in 'Law & Order' and had her first film role in 'Center Stage' (2000). Zoe gained recognition for her performance opposite Britney Spears in 'Crossroads' (2002). Her career breakthrough came with roles as Nyota Uhura in the 'Star Trek' reboot series (2009) and Neytiri in James Cameron's 'Avatar' films. She portrayed Gamora in five Marvel Cinematic Universe films, from 'Guardians of the Galaxy' (2014) to 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3' (2023). In addition to franchise work, Zoe starred in Netflix's 'The Adam Project' and 'From Scratch', both in 2022. She began playing a CIA officer in Paramount+'s spy series 'Lioness' in 2023.
