Vivian Hsu, born March 19, 1975 in Taichung, Taiwan, is a prominent Taiwanese singer, actress, and model who gained significant popularity in East Asia, particularly in Taiwan and Japan. She rose to fame in Japan in the mid-1990s, becoming a highly-recognized celebrity with numerous media appearances during the late 1990s. Notably, Hsu was the main vocalist for the Japanese dance band Black Biscuits, which released four successful singles ('Stamina', 'Timing', 'Relax', 'Bye-Bye') and one album ('Life'), all reaching top spots in the Oricon charts.
