Full Biography

Denise Katrina Matthews, better known as Vanity, was born on January 4, 1959, in Toronto, Canada. She gained fame as the lead singer of the female trio Vanity 6, scoring an R&B hit with 'Nasty Girl' in 1982. After her music career, she turned to acting and appeared in the 1988 action film 'Action Jackson'. In this movie, her character Sydney Ash is a heroin-addicted mistress of a powerful car manufacturer named Peter Dellaplane. Dellaplane's son Sean was sexually violent, which led to Jackson being demoted from lieutenant to sergeant.
