Stéphane Audran (born Colette Suzanne Jeannine Dacheville on November 8, 1932) was a French actress known for her roles as haughty bourgeois women. She began her career with Claude Chabrol's 'Les Cousins' in 1959 and went on to appear in many of his films such as 'Les Bonnes Femmes', 'La Femme Infidèle', 'Le Boucher', and 'Violette Nozière'. Audran won a Silver Bear for Best Actress at the Berlin International Film Festival for her role in 'Les Biches'. She also starred in notable films like Luis Buñuel's 'The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie' and Gabriel Axel's 'Babette's Feast'. Audran was married to Claude Chabrol from 1964 to 1980, with whom she had a son, Thomas Chabrol. She passed away on March 27, 2018.
