Paoli Dam was born on October 4, 1980, and spent her childhood in Kolkata. She initially wanted to be a chemical researcher or a pilot but eventually pursued acting. Her television debut was with 'Jibon Niye Khela' (2003), followed by notable roles in 'Tithir Atithi' and 'Sonar Harin'. Dam's film career began with Bengali films like 'Teen Yaari Katha', 'Agnipariksha', and 'Kaalbela'. She gained international recognition for her role in the Bengali film 'Chatrak' (2011), which was screened at prestigious film festivals. Dam made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with 'Hate Story' and also appeared in 'Ankur Arora Murder Case'. She won the Viewers' Choice Award for Best Actress for her performance in 'Natoker Moto' in 2016.
