Nancy Anne Allen, born June 24, 1950 in New York City, raised in the Bronx, initially aspired to be a dancer before shifting her focus to acting. She relocated to Los Angeles and gained prominence with roles in Brian De Palma's 'Carrie' (1976), 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' (1978), and '1941' (1979). Allen married De Palma in 1979, and her role in his film 'Dressed to Kill' (1980) earned her a Golden Globe nomination. After divorcing De Palma in 1984, she appeared in films like 'RoboCop' (1987), but stepped back from acting in 2008, becoming involved in cancer support.
