Mylène Demongeot, born Marie-Hélène Demongeot on September 29, 1935, in Nice, Alpes-Maritimes, France, was a French actress with an extensive career spanning seven decades and over 100 credits. She gained international recognition at age 21 for her role as Abigail Williams in 'The Crucible' (1957), which earned her a BAFTA nomination and the best actress prize at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. Demongeot is known for her versatile roles across various genres, including thrillers ('Il faut vivre dangereusement', 1975), period films ('Les Trois Mousquetaires', 1961), and comedies ('Camping' trilogy). She was twice nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the César Awards. Demongeot was made a Commander of the Ordre des Arts et de Lettres in 2007 and inducted into the Légion d'Honneur in 2017. She passed away from peritoneal cancer on December 1, 2022.
