Full Biography
Miranda Otto, born December 16, 1967, is an Australian actress who began acting at age eighteen. Her first major film appearance was in 'Emma's War' (1986). She gained Hollywood attention with supporting roles in 'The Thin Red Line' (1998) and 'What Lies Beneath' (2000). Otto's breakthrough role was Éowyn in 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy (2001-2003), earning her an Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films nomination. She then starred in 'War of the Worlds' (2005) with Tom Cruise. On television, she won Most Outstanding Actress for her role in 'Through My Eyes: The Lindy Chamberlain Story' (2004). Otto has also appeared in 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' (2018-2020), and made her theatrical debut in 'The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant' (1986).
