Mira Furlan (1955-2021) was a prominent Croatian actress and singer who began her career in the former Yugoslavia. She was born in what is now known as Serbia, but she spent much of her professional life in Croatia. Mira was part of the Croatian National Theatre and frequently performed at major theaters across the country. She received numerous awards for her stage and film work, including two Golden Arenas (Yugoslav Oscars) for Best Actress. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1991 with her husband due to political circumstances, she gained international recognition for her role as Ambassador Delenn in 'Babylon 5' (1994), earning Sci-Fi Universe Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Genre TV-series in both 1996 and 1997. Mira also appeared in over 25 films and numerous television series.
