Micheline Presle, born Micheline Nicole Julia Émilienne Chassagne on 22 August 1922 in Paris, France, was a prominent French actress known for her work in over 50 films. She debuted at age 15 in 'La Fessée' and won the Prix Suzanne Bianchetti in 1938. Presle starred in European films like 'Devil in the Flesh', leading to Hollywood offers. She moved to the U.S., changing her last name to Prelle, and starred in films such as 'Under My Skin' and 'American Guerrilla in the Philippines'. She married actor William Marshall in 1950, having a daughter Tonie before divorcing in 1954. Presle's career flourished in French cinema post-divorce. Notably, she signed the Manifesto of the 343 in 1971, admitting to an illegal abortion. She died on 21 February 2024 at age 101.
