Maya Sansa, born September 25, 1975 in Rome to an Iranian father and Italian mother, began acting at age 14. She studied at 'Virgilio' high school in Rome and later attended Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Sansa debuted in Marco Bellocchio's 'La balia' (2001) and later starred in his 'Goodmorning, Night' (2003). She has also worked with Marco Tullio Giordana ('The Best of Youth'). On May 2, 2004, The New York Times named her the new image of Italian cinema. Sansa won a David di Donatello award for Best Supporting Actress in 'Dormant Beauty' (2013). She has a daughter, Talitha, with partner Fabrice Scott and resides in Paris.
