Full Biography
Marilyn Monroe (1926-1962), born Norma Jeane Mortenson, was an American actress and model known for her comedic 'blonde bombshell' roles. Born in Los Angeles, she spent a troubled childhood in foster homes before marrying at age 16. She began modeling during WWII, leading to minor film roles with Fox and Columbia. After being typecast and underpaid, Monroe formed her own production company in 1954. Her notable films include 'Niagara', 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes', 'The Seven Year Itch', 'Bus Stop', 'The Prince and the Showgirl', and 'Some Like It Hot'. Despite never being nominated for an Oscar, she remains a pop culture icon.
