Full Biography

Maitê Proença Gallo, born January 28, 1958, in São Paulo, Brazil, is a versatile Brazilian actress, presenter, and writer. She gained significant fame for her role in the telenovela 'Dona Beija', which aired in over 50 countries. Proença has written two books ('Entre ossos e a escrita' and 'Uma Vida Inventada'), both successful in Brazil and Portugal, and she has also written plays like 'As Meninas'. She hosted TV shows such as Video Show (1983), Programa de Domingo (1987), and Saia Justa (2006/2007). Proença's debut as a theater producer was with the play 'Buda' in 2002. In 2009, she faced controversy due to remarks made on the Brazilian TV show Saia Justa, leading to accusations of Lusophobia, although she maintained her love for Portugal.
