Mélanie Leray is a French actress and theater director who began her career after graduating from the National Theater of Brittany, studying under Bernard Bayen and Hans Peter Cloos. She acted at the Théâtre des Lucioles from 1995 to 1997, working with notable directors like Christophe Lemaître, Jean Deloche, Gilles Dao, and François Rancillac. In 2009, she returned to the Théâtre National de Bretagne as a director with Lucy Caldwell's play 'Leaves'. She founded her own company, La Compagnie 2052, in 2012.
