Lynda Jean Carter, born July 24, 1951 in Phoenix, Arizona, is an American actress and singer. She won the title of Miss World USA in 1972. After studying acting in New York, she began her career with guest appearances on TV shows before landing the iconic role of Wonder Woman in the series 'The New Original Wonder Woman' (1975-77) and 'The New Adventures of Wonder Woman' (1977-79). Known for her striking beauty and statuesque figure, Carter was considered one of the most beautiful women in the world during that time. After Wonder Woman, she had a successful career as a Las Vegas entertainer and continues to appear in TV movies and series.
