Lisa Joyce was born and raised in Chicago, where she earned her BFA in Acting from DePaul University's Theater School. She received critical acclaim for her roles in various productions, including 'Red Light Winter' at Steppenwolf Theatre, which was a Pulitzer Prize finalist, and 'La Bete', starring Mark Rylance and David Hyde Pierce. Joyce has appeared in numerous off-Broadway productions, such as 'Love, Loss and What I Wore' and 'The Ugly One', for which she received a Drama Desk nomination. She is also a member of the LAByrinth Theater Company.
