Kennedy Johnston, born Danielle Petty in Bellevue, Washington, began her acting career at a young age under her grandmother's influence in their family tavern. She made her film debut when Ron Howard and Mickey Rourke filmed on her grandparents' house in Issaquah, Washington. After moving to Los Angeles, she found it challenging to secure auditions, leading her to explore the independent movie market as an alternative route into acting.
