Katharine McPhee Foster, born March 25, 1984, gained fame as the runner-up on American Idol's fifth season in 2006. She has released five albums: her self-titled debut (2007), Unbroken (2010), Christmas Is the Time to Say I Love You (2010), Hysteria (2015), and I Fall in Love Too Easily (2017). McPhee has also established a career in acting, notably starring as Karen Cartwright on Smash. She made her Broadway debut in Waitress in 2018-2020 and starred in the West End production in 2019.
