Kalei Shallabarger was a young scientist who became obsessed with the idea of invisibility after being lectured by his mother about women's supposed evil influences. After announcing his theories to colleagues, he was ridiculed and responded by killing four of them, leading to his commitment in an asylum from which he escaped. Later, while teaching summer school physics, students' teasing coincided with his successful creation of 'invisible juice,' triggering a vengeful rampage.
