Full Biography
Irina Potapenko, born in 1986 on the Crimean peninsula during its Soviet era, migrated to Berlin with her mother in 1994. She began acting at age twelve, initially in a Russian chamber theater, then at the Volksbühne Berlin under Frank Castorf's productions. She gained prominence for her role in 'Revanche' (2008), which was nominated for Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscars. Potapenko won the Actor Award at the Max Ophüls Prize film festival in 2009 and was nominated for Best German Actress at the Jupiter Awards in 2012.
