Full Biography
William Holly Johnson was born on February 9, 1960. He rose to fame as the lead vocalist of Frankie Goes to Hollywood in the mid-1980s after initially playing bass for Big in Japan in the late 1970s. Post his success with Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Johnson released a solo album 'Blast' in 1989 which reached number one in the UK albums chart. Two singles from this album, 'Love Train' and 'Americanos', peaked at top five positions on the UK Singles Chart.
