Full Biography
Hanna Schygulla, born December 25, 1943 in Germany, is considered one of the most prominent German actresses of the New German Cinema. She has appeared in numerous films by director Rainer Werner Fassbinder, notably 'The Marriage of Maria Braun' (1979), for which she won the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival. Schygulla also played the lead role in 'Storia di Piera' (1983), an Italian film based on the autobiography of Piera Degli Esposti.
