Full Biography
Glenda May Jackson CBE (1936-2023) was an English actress and politician born in Birkenhead, Cheshire. She achieved the Triple Crown of Acting with two Academy Awards ('Women in Love' 1970, 'A Touch of Class' 1973), three Emmy Awards ('Elizabeth R' 1971), and a Tony Award ('Three Tall Women' 2018). Notable roles include 'Sunday Bloody Sunday', 'Mary, Queen of Scots', and 'Hedda'. She studied at RADA and made her Broadway debut in 'Marat/Sade'. Jackson served as an MP for Labour Party from 1992 to 2015, including a stint as junior transport minister. After politics, she returned to acting.
