Francesca Annis, born on 14 May 1945 in London, England, is an acclaimed English actress known for her television roles such as Reckless (1998), Wives and Daughters (1999), Deceit (2000), and Cranford (2007). She has been nominated six times for a BAFTA TV Award, winning in 1979 for the serial Lillie. Her notable film appearances include Krull (1983) and Dune (1984). Annis played Lady Macbeth in Roman Polanski's 1971 adaptation of Shakespeare's tragedy, 'Macbeth'.
