Françoise Denise Aline Blanchard, known for her role as Catherine Valmont in Jean Rollin's 1982 horror film 'La morte vivante' (The Living Dead Girl), worked extensively in French cinema throughout the 1970s and 1980s. She acted in films by directors like Michel Gérard, Jacques Peroni, Bruno Mattei, and Richard Balducci. Blanchard's performance in 'La morte vivante' earned her critical acclaim, with some believing she had descended into madness during filming. Post-Rollin, she appeared in three more of his works: 'Les trottoirs de Bangkok' (1984), the short film 'À la poursuite de Barbara' (1991), and 'La nuit des horloges' (2007). She also worked as a French voice dubbing artist, notably for Olive Oyl in 'Popeye' (1980) and Margot Wallace in 'Hackers' (1995). Blanchard died in 2013, twelve days before her 59th birthday.
