Full Biography

Emily Bergl was born to an Irish mother and English architect father in Milton Keynes, England, but moved to Chicago as a child, developing a lack of British accent. She attended Glenbrook South High School and Grinnell College, graduating Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. in English and Theater. Bergl's big break came with the lead role in 'The Rage: Carrie 2' (1999). She has appeared in various TV shows like 'Gilmore Girls', 'CSI: Miami', 'Medium', 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent', 'NYPD Blue', and 'Star Trek: Enterprise'. Notable film roles include 'Chasing Sleep' opposite Jeff Daniels. Bergl also played significant roles in the miniseries 'Taken' (2002) and the TV series 'Men in Trees'. She performed in the play 'Becky Shaw' at Second Stage Theatre, New York, and had a cabaret show 'Kidding on the Square'. In 2010, she played Beth Young in the seventh season of 'Desperate Housewives'.
