Although Monica Bellucci commands the limelight as Malena, the titular character around whom the narrative revolves, Elisa leaves an indelible mark as Lupetta. Set against the backdrop of war's onset, a young boy's infatuation with Bellucci's Malena prompts his father to introduce him to a house of ill repute, where Elisa's Lupetta is among the resident courtesans.
