Dervla Kirwan, born on 24 October 1971 in Churchtown, Dublin, Ireland, is an Irish actress known for her roles in British television shows like 'Ballykissangel' and 'Goodnight Sweetheart'. She also appeared in the 'Doctor Who' Christmas special episode, 'The Next Doctor', and voiced advertisements for UK retailer Marks & Spencer. Kirwan's father was an insurance broker, and her mother a language teacher; she is their youngest daughter. Notably, she is a great-granddaughter of Margaret Collins-O'Driscoll, sister of Irish independence leader Michael Collins.
