Full Biography
Cynthia Wood was born on September 25, 1950 in Burbank, California, to Harold, a recording executive, and Erma, an actress. Initially studying music at Los Angeles City College and Los Angeles Valley College, she switched to theater before dropping out in 1971. Wood gained fame as the Playmate of the Month (February 1973) and later Playmate of the Year (1974). She made her film debut in 'Shampoo' and appeared notably as Moon in 'Van Nuys Blvd'. In Francis Ford Coppola's 'Apocalypse Now', she played one of the dancing Playboy playmates, a role expanded in the 2001 Redux version. Wood also had TV appearances on 'The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour' and 'The Jim Stafford Show'.
