Catherine Deneuve, born Catherine Fabienne Dorléac on October 22, 1943, is a renowned French actress known for her roles as mysterious beauties in films directed by Jacques Demy, Luis Buñuel, François Truffaut, and Roman Polanski. She has been nominated for the César Award 14 times, winning twice: once for 'The Last Metro' (1980) by Truffaut and another for 'Indochine' (1992). Deneuve also served as the official face of Marianne, France's national symbol of liberty, succeeding Mireille Mathieu in 1985.
