Candace Maxwell, born to Caribbean-American parents and raised in Queens, New York before moving to Atlanta, Georgia, began her career as a dancer. She performed on stage, film, and Broadway, working with renowned artists like Beyoncé, Lil Kim, and P. Diddy. Her skills led her to secure dance segments on major TV shows and eventually land a role in 'Holler If You Hear Me' on Broadway. Maxwell shifted her focus towards acting, training at the Maggie Flanigan Studio under the Meisner technique. She is best known for portraying Cassandra Haynes in both 'Power' (2019) and 'Insatiable' (2019).
