Annie Girardot, born October 25, 1931, began her acting career in 1955 with 'Treize à table'. She won numerous awards for her performances, including the Prix Suzanne Bianchetti (1956), César Awards for Best Actress ('Docteur Françoise Gailland', 2002), and Best Supporting Actress ('The Piano Teacher'). Notable roles include Nadia in 'Rocco e i suoi fratelli' opposite Renato Salvatori, with whom she married in 1962. She headed the jury at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1992 and collaborated again with Michael Haneke in 'Caché'. Girardot passed away on February 28, 2011.
