Anne Heywood (born Violet Pretty on 11 December 1932) started her career as Miss Great Britain in 1950, then worked for Radio's Talent Spotter Carroll Levis before attending London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She acted in films from the early 1950s, transitioning from supporting roles to leading lady parts. Notable roles include 'The Fox' (1967), which stirred controversy due to its lesbian themes, and several Italian giallo thrillers in the 1970s such as 'Le monache di Sant'Arcangelo'. Her career declined in the 1980s, with her last role being in the TV movie 'Memories of Manon' in 1989. She resides in California.
