Aleshia Brevard was an American actress and author who worked extensively in stage, screen, and television productions. Born male, she underwent one of the first sex reassignment surgeries performed in the U.S., identifying as female from a young age but living outside wider transgender communities until later years when she published her memoirs. She was known for her role in 'Female Bunch' (1971), playing Sandy, a character who struggles to fit into an all-female gang involved in drugs and crime.
