Story
Sordid Lives revolves around the Rodriguez family in a small Texas town preparing for the funeral of their mother, Peggy. The story unfolds around several eccentric characters: Ty, the grandson struggling to find his identity after moving from West Hollywood; G.W., the son who has spent over two decades dressed as Tammy Wynette; Nawanda and LaVonda, the sister and her best friend living in kitschy homes; and the daughters, Odessa, who is strait-laced, and Sissy, who is a bit of a loser. As they gather for the funeral, old secrets and dysfunctional family dynamics are brought to light.
Summary

The film explores themes of identity, family dysfunction, and Southern Baptist culture through its ensemble cast of colorful characters. Despite its comedic tone, it delves into serious issues such as acceptance, gender norms, and the complex dynamics of a dysfunctional yet loving family.
