Full Biography

Suranne Jones, born Sarah Ann Jones on 27 August 1978 in Chadderton, Greater Manchester, is an English actress and producer. She rose to prominence playing Karen McDonald on Coronation Street from 2000 to 2004. Throughout her career, she has appeared in numerous television dramas such as Scott & Bailey, Doctor Foster, Save Me, Vigil, and Gentleman Jack, for which she served as executive producer and earned a BAFTA nomination for Best Actress. On stage, she has been part of productions like A Few Good Men, Blithe Spirit, Top Girls, Beautiful Thing, Orlando, and Frozen. Jones was raised Catholic, attended Cardinal Langley Roman Catholic High School, and later trained at the Oldham Theatre Workshop.
