Annette Carol Bening, born May 29, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, USA, is an accomplished American actress with a career spanning over four decades. She began her career on stage with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival company in 1980 and made her Broadway debut in 'Coastal Disturbances' (1987), earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play. Bening gained prominence for her role as Myra Lang in 'The Grifters' (1990). She has received numerous accolades, including two Golden Globes and a BAFTA Award for her roles in films like 'American Beauty' (1999) and 'Being Julia' (2004), among others. Her notable works also include 'Postcards from the Edge' (1990), 'Bugsy' (1991), and 'The Kids Are All Right' (2010).
