Head in the Clouds (2004), directed by John Duigan, is a drama set against the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War and World War II. The film explores themes of love, class differences, and political ideology through the lives of three friends: Gilda Bessé, an unconventional heiress turned photographer; Guy Malyon, a reserved Irish schoolteacher; and Mia, a passionate Spanish refugee. While Gilda maintains her carefree lifestyle, Guy and Mia become increasingly involved in the fight against fascism, ultimately leading to their separation.
