Story

In the midst of Chile's military coup in 1973, Lena (Emma Watson) and Daniel (Daniel Brühl), a young German couple vacationing in the country, find themselves entangled in the political unrest. Daniel is abducted by Pinochet's secret police, and Lena, desperate to find him, tracks his whereabouts to Colonia Dignidad, an isolated community in southern Chile. The colony presents itself as a charitable mission run by lay preacher Paul Schäfer (Michael Nyqvist), but it's actually a cult from which no one has ever escaped. Lena decides to infiltrate the cult to rescue Daniel.
